Safari is not the best browser. Neither is Chrome, and neither is Firefox.
Each of them have their strengths and weaknesses. Safari is the best at low power consumption and integration in its environment. Firefox is the best at customizability and openness, and standards adherence. Chrome is the best at, well, popularity, I guess; innovating new web standards, maybe.
- JDiculous 7y agoI've never used mobile Safari, but where mobile Chrome shines vs. Firefox is 1. speed. 2. easier to navigate through your tabs when you have many open. If not for those, I'd just be using Firefox because the ability to add plugins (eg. Adblock) and have Youtube not stop playing when you minimize it are obviously huge advantages.
- pilsetnieks 7y agoI think you should specify which platform you're using (I suspect Android.) On iOS all the different browsers are just different UIs for the same engine.
