An article with only anecdotes on a country of 1bn people... BBC is a shadow of it's former glory.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love people moving from Twitter to Mastodon, but this article doesn't have any substance.

- tzjmetron 7y agoA lot of influential (Indian) people I follow on Twitter are indeed moving onto Mastodon (with stop-gap measures like apps to cross-post "toots" to Twitter during the transition). It is being done as a form of protest against @TwitterIndia in particular, who seem to be willy-nilly closing down valid accounts of "liberals" whilst protecting the accounts of people who openly call for ethnic cleansing, massacres, riots, lynching, and carrying out active propaganda against minorities - primarily against Muslims and Christians, and to a smaller extent against Sikhs. It is a seminal move in my opinion, and unless Twitter wishes a huge chunk of its sane demographic to move out completely, it had better start paying more attention to people's concerns.
