If your work pays for it, just get a prebuilt box.
If you're buying it for yourself, it's easy to DIY. I just built a 3900x with 32gb (you could easily add more), super easy, cost me £800 total for cpu, ram and mobo. The only thing was availability of the 3900x, had to wait for a bit.
I already had:
- old case
- 1080ti gpu
- nvme & ssd drives
I bought:
- 3900x (comes with a good heatsink+cooler) - £480
- 32gb (2x16gb 3200mhz DDR4, also runs at 3600mhz without issues) Ballistix Sport AES ram (micron e-die) - £140
- Asus TUF x570 Gaming Plus mobo - £180
Took about 2 hours to build and configure + about 3-4 hours researching what to buy! which you can skip if you buy the same :)
Very happy, it's super duper fast for workloads that use multiple cores.
