I am surprised he didn't benchmark the C++ program with Clang to give a closer comparison to rust.
In my experience, despite all its other advantages, Clang still lags GCC a bit in raw performance.
Still a really useful set of comparisons. I am impressed Rust is able to compete with all the magic OpenMP is doing in the background.
