We do studies like this to determine whether or not those reasons are any good. I've seen a lot of evidence that suggests that mediation can have lots of benefits, and I've seen evidence that suggests that psychedellics can have benefits in certain use cases as well. It's easy on a personal level to dismiss results of a study because of dogma, but it doesn't translate into an effective argument.
