Came here to say the same thing. Sorry to be “that guy” but it’s really hard for me to have any positive thoughts of a front-end web project when it’s website doesn’t work on mobile.
- alias_neo 7y agoCame here to say the same, glad I'm not the only one. The website is unusable on mobile so I can't even check out if the app is any good. I guess I know enough already.
- RMPR 7y agoFWIW I looked the github page instead which renders nicely
- DHPersonal 7y agohttps://github.com/marktext/marktext https://github.com/marktext/marktext
- alias_neo 7y agoThanks, turns out it looks pretty cool and I'll actually try it, from the experience with the website I was ready to forget about it and move on.
- curiousgal 7y agoYou couldn't just tick the "Request desktop site" box available in every browser? But yeah I guess you know enough already, the dev should apologize because the website of their free product is not mobile friendly.
- alias_neo 7y agoI'm also a developer, and if you're not mobile-first let alone mobile friendly, you're doing it wrong in 2019. Why do I want to pan and scroll around a tiny site rendered in desktop mode on my mobile for your brand new product? It's either lazy or ignorant and neither gives me confidence in their software.
- curiousgal 7y agoIt's a free product.
- ubercow13 7y agoDoesn’t make any difference, it looks the same.
- oauea 7y agoWere you planning to run this markdown editor on your phone?
- iscrewyou 7y agoNot op, but there are markdown editors for phones now. And the website? Can’t even tell which OS the app is selling for.
- DHPersonal 7y agoWindows, Mac, and Linux. https://github.com/marktext/marktext https://github.com/marktext/marktext
- oauea 7y agoNot sure how you missed it, but it's extremely clear: https://i.imgur.com/0WL8XNE.png https://i.imgur.com/0WL8XNE.png Not affiliated with this product, just surprised at how this could possibly be unclear.
- pwinnski 7y agoNot so clear on a mobile device: https://i.imgur.com/LD5yMab.jpg https://i.imgur.com/LD5yMab.jpg Not affiliated with the OP, just surprised how a sub-thread about a broken mobile experience could possibly be unclear. ;)
- austhrow743 7y agoThis comment makes no sense. I don't plan to fly to Japan on my phone but I still want flight booking sites to work on it. Reading about an activity and doing the activity are two different things yeah?
- DHPersonal 7y agoI don't know the motive for the site design, but I wonder if perhaps it wasn't coded for mobile because the app is not compatible with mobile devices but rather only Windows, Mac, and Linux. https://github.com/marktext/marktext https://github.com/marktext/marktext
- gatherhunterer 7y agoEven if you’re making a CLI application the website still needs to work on mobile. Responsive design is the only web interface design that is relevant.
