It is my opinion that in order to retain freedom of the press protections an organization should be required to be non-profit, not specifically 501c3 of course.

- TallGuyShort 7y agoHaving a non-profit tax status doesn't prevent you from paying large salaries if you make more money. That really wouldn't do anything to take away the incentive the press has to sell more news.
