It's just a weird mix of both stocks being techy/geeky, extremely volatile (though generally speaking on the upward trend), Elon Musk adding to Tesla's weirdness, and strange infatuation with AMD's CEO Lisa Su.
Tesla especially attracts a certain weirdness because there's a large cohort of people who think Elon is full of it and hiding massive fraud and are hellbent on exposing him (using $TSLAQ everywhere).
If you follow earnings season both stocks did extremely well, especially Tesla. Made and broke a lot of people.
- akvadrako 7y agoTesla hasn’t been on an upward trend for two years. AMD hasn’t for about one year. Neither have reached their highs of the past few years.
