- archagon 7y agoOMG! TIL about option-clicking the scrollbar. And here I thought I'd option-clicked everything by now...
- LeoPanthera 7y agoYou can change that behavior in System Preferences > General.
- SeanLuke 7y agoI came here to say just that.
- cocoadog 7y agoRelated: on Macs, holding the Shift key makes the scroll wheel (and two-finger touchpad scrolling) scroll horizontally instead of vertically.
- Izkata 7y agoLikewise I remember Windows also jumping by a page. I remember being confused when I first experienced jumping to that position upon switching to Ubuntu.
- perplex 7y agoThere is a setting to change this behavior. It’s in System Preferences->General->“Jump to the spot that’s clicked”
- bbernoulli 7y agoWindows also advances by page when clicking in the gutter, BUT based on the handle size it seems like the example scrollbars are not demoing a large enough scroll area to show both behaviors.
- mmphosis 7y agoX on Linux (Xfce) it advances by page, by shift-clicking in the gutter! Where do I reverse this? So that it advances by page when clicking in the gutter, and it jumps to that position when shift-clicking in the gutter.
