- BLKNSLVR 7y agoMake them 'bookable' for any content on offer through Netflix at whatever cost Netflix feels is appropriate for the content / length. Person who pays for booking out the Netflix cinema then advertises and sells tickets through the "Netflix Cinema" ticket sales interface, Netflix gets a percentage and the rest goes to the organiser. I've been considering doing something like this as an excuse to catch up with friends over a movie, but make it a bit more slick than your regular get-together. Too busy to put much thought into it, yet another to-do on the post-retirement list.
- Cheyana 7y agoYes, but then it will run into that ol' leverage chestnut that will go something like: "If you allow Netflix to screen your film it will not be allowed in ours". Plus the upkeep on a theater is probably considerable, with building maintenance, rent, other expenses and so on. Would Netflix even be able to make a profit from that kind of overhead?
- mkr-hn 7y agoI would go to a Netflix theater for a selection of Star Trek episodes and similar. Who needs a big fancy movie when you have narrative arcs peppered through a pre-serial normalization series?
- jkoberg 7y agoWhy go to a theatre when I have a 4K 60" TV at home? Theatres were a distribution mechanism, it's been superseded.
