Ask HN: Anyone else writes down rules/principles they follow?

For the past year I have been writing down a set of rules I try to follow in life. The goal is that by writing it down, it helps me refine what my values are. Unlike principles however they can be quite specific as they relate to how I approach writing code, learning and life in large.
