Students at my university tried to create a 'men's space' on campus, similar to a 'women's space' that had existed for years. The student paper was full of articles for months talking about what horrible misogyny men would get up to if they were allowed to gather in a space without female supervision and people were ostracized for expressing support for the project, there was an immediate backlash of intimidation that successfully shut it down.
