There's now an actual, functional IMAP library that uses these techniques here: https://github.com/jonhoo/rust-imap https://github.com/jonhoo/rust-imap I did not contribute to that library, but it's nice to see a practical implementation. They use the same approach, essentially, as I describe in my blog.
