After the decades learning that targeted advertising to sell goods and services comes with a dramatic tracking and data gathering overreach, I'd like to ban the lot. It's still targeted manipulation. Better to have no tracking and no targeting. Allow opt-in targeting by allowing classified ads, old-school newspaper and Computer Shopper style. Otherwise I think it is now pretty clear the cost is too high.
