4 miles is absolutely nothing in terms of biking distance. In high school I (and a lot of the other kids in my village) used to bike 11 miles to school, and then 11 miles back again at the end of the day. Took about 45 minutes if I was hasty. Now, if it rained or was very windy it was pretty bad, but it was very doable :)
