The author here is expressing his ideas on recent ongoing events relating to the tech industry and antitrust litigation. Seems like it would be a perfectly valid thing to have here on Hacker News.
- dredmorbius 7y agoThanks. The two items I found of note: 1. The specific inclusion of SV / infotech / social media firms and dynamics. 2. The typically hagiographic Friedman being notably not. Shades of "If I've lost Cronkeit, then I've lost Middle America": http://citation.allacademic.com/meta/p_mla_apa_research_citation/5/1/9/1/7/pages519172/p519172-21.php http://citation.allacademic.com/meta/p_mla_apa_research_cita... Not that TF is a Walter Cronkeit, but the sentiments and values he typically expresses are very notably not on show here, and may be taken as a watershed moment. Though perhaps only comprising a rather modest shed of unimpressive construction.
