Market demands Bad Science, market supplies Bad Science. I do not see a problem here.
- buboard 7y agoMost of it is being funded by public means. Industries such as pharma, which rely on that science did point out the replication crisis in medicine: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replication_crisis#In_medicine https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replication_crisis#In_medicine
- glofish 7y agoA cynical view - alas it captures the truth. It is very easy to point fingers, to blame it on funding, blame it on journals, blame it on media, but in the end: - scientists decide who gets funded - scientists decide who gets published - scientists make exaggerated claims in the media The source of the problem is the scientists, not understanding the damage they are doing to themselves. I do foresee downvotes, because scientists do not like this idea at all :-)
