Even if statistical literacy was normative wouldn't people's selfishness still cause them to use/abuse statistics to influence those who are less literate in them?
- lostmyoldone 7y agoKnowledge can be abused, but lack of knowledge will almost certainly lead to, unintentional, abuse. Especially in the case of statistics. In many cases, reporters want to be dramatic, but not liars. However, the lack of deeper statistical knowledge often lead to them becoming liars, even though they only wanted to be dramatic.
