Comcast doesn't have an editorial board screening all the content that its product indirectly facilitates. Newspapers basically are content creators and curators at the core. If newspapers stopped doing that, they basically wouldn't exist. If Facebook eased up on ranking, filtering, and promoting, it would just be the old thefacebook.com.
