I don't get it, how come there's no outrage over political ads shown on TV? If it's a legal ad, why should Facebook police it?

- CydeWeys 7y agoPolitical ads on TV are regulated.
- bryan_w 7y agoNot in the way you're thinking: https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2019/oct/15/elizabeth-warren/phony-facebook-ad-warren-said-most-tv-networks-wil/ https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2019/oct...
- jpadkins 7y agohow so? I didn't see any mention of the content of TV or radio being regulated (other than the disclaimer of who paid for it) in my quick search. This article appears to say that the content is unregulated. https://www.thebalancecareers.com/should-tv-stations-ban-false-political-ads-3956480 https://www.thebalancecareers.com/should-tv-stations-ban-fal...
- chillacy 7y agoBut the ads in question were aired on TV, this letter is asking FB to go above and beyond what most TV networks are doing (CNN being the only one who did not air the trump ad, objecting because it called them "fake news")
- justapassenger 7y agoBecause lying TV ads are old news. FB is an easy target, by all the parties.
