I cook for myself and get higher quality food at a fraction of the price.
I generally reserve eating out for when I'm on the go or want to have a night out with friends. It's very rare that I buy takeaway food to eat at home. One of the best parts about being at home is having a kitchen.
Decent quality prepared food is expensive in a ton of places, this isn't an exclusively London thing by any stretch of the imagination.
- librish 7y agoFor a lot of people assigning a "reasonable" cost per hour spent cooking results in cooking for yourself being more expensive.
- esotericn 7y agoYeah yeah, I've been through this a million times on here. Cooking is one of the pleasures of life, it ain't all about the grind.
- librish 7y agoOne of your pleasures, which is awesome for you. I wish I enjoyed cooking, but I don't, so if you've been through this a million times maybe it's time to stop assuming it's some universal joy?
- esotericn 7y agoI honestly couldn't care less whether it's a universal joy. Specialization is for insects. You do you. :)
