Show HN: Free Remote Browsers
- pretty_dumm_guy 7y agoHi slowenough! This is awesome. I do have a few questions/comments about this. 1. The rendering quality of pages is quite low. (Like an image with salt and pepper noise). 2. I used ipleak.net to check the IP which points to some provider(presumably you or Aws/Cloudfare/Asure etc.,). So how do you manage illegal usage ? 3. How do you deal with browser history and cookies(why should I trust this) ? 4. Do you happen to the have the source code for this made available ? Sorry about the barrage of questions. I just got excited a bit :)
- slowenough 7y agoThank you for the compliment! I'm very happy someone finds it awesome. 1. Rendering quality is low because it is just an image, for browser isolation security, and the image is lossy compressed to keep bandwidth low. I made this as a MVP to focus on security. 2. Regarding illegal usage, what makes you ask? 3. In this demo, each browser is completely scrubbed every 30 minutes. So all the history, cache, cookies disappears. For that 30 minute session, your cookies are preserved. You can also right-click to get a context menu to scrub history, or everything manually. And you can also use the context menu to open incognito tabs that have their own blank slate. 4. The source code is unavailable. I'm glad you're excited. Why did you get excited and want to know more?

- slowenough 7y agoI'm really sorry about this! I did not test on iOS before pushing. When at work I'll get on this. Hope to have a resolution for you quickly. Edit: I made a quick change. If it's no trouble for you, could you tell me how it is for you now?
