This is kinda where VMware is going with project pacific & vSphere integrated containers; containers running as individual VMs on a hypervisor. I wonder if we will see others following the same pattern?
I’m not sure what the drawbacks might be though
- jacques_chester 7y agoI think yes. Red Hat and others are working on KubeVirt, plus I believe there are CRI implementations for gVisor and Firecracker. Disclosure: I work for Pivotal, which is in the middle of acquisition by VMware.
