- tempsy 7y agoNo...usually they fall in the bottom quartile as far as total compensation goes. That is exactly why companies like hiring them. The "slave" part of it is that they are totally dependent on the company in the sense that they will be kicked out of the country if they don't follow orders, which usually means being overworked and underpaid.
- tziki 7y ago>No...usually they fall in the bottom quartile as far as total compensation goes. That's simply not true. I suggest you familiarize yourself with H1B more.
- tempsy 7y agoReally? It is well-known that H1Bs earn less because they have zero leverage when it comes to negotiating. Why else would Uber, and other tech firms, like hiring them?
- tziki 7y agoI don't think you're listening. It's the law that companies hiring H1B workers must pay at least the average wage of the profession in the area. What are the sources on your claim that the companies are breaking that law?
- confidantlake 7y agoIt is absolutely true.

- dmode 7y agoYou need to better research and educate yourself about H1 wages and mobility before throwing around words like "slave"
- kevin_thibedeau 7y agoMany H1Bs are expected to work longer hours. Failure to comply can have negative consequences.
