google silently replacing "interesting" with "cool" brings up advice on cooling things (temperature) instead of keeping things "interesting" as in "interesting"
- moultano 7y agoDo you remember the full query?
- liveoneggs 7y agohow to keep an aquarium interesting how to keep a cat interesting looks like that pattern generally
- moultano 7y agoAwesome examples! Thank you!
- mattkrause 7y agoWow..that does fail spectacularly! The first few pages for me are all temperature-related.
- DevoidSimo 7y agoDuck Duck Go seems to handle that much better, although the first result is still about cooling. I assume it's synonym replacement
- uoaei 7y agoYikes, that sounds like a software architecture problem. The "infer which words are more likely to get good results" layer and the "search for things using words" layer are blind to each other's behaviors. How do Google's engineering teams get away with this obvious error? For how much they're paid, you'd expect them to be better about things that passive observers readily notice. Don't they use their own product, anyway?
