In expectation you won't lose money, but people who think they know better will happily give you their money by making a bad move while being convinced they are getting an edge. Most math-type people don't know the hypothesis of the Monty-Hall Problem and can't state it properly, but most have seen it played on TV-shows and know they must switch.
