It's not just the company though. It's Wolfram Notebooks, Wolfram Cloud, Wolfram Language, Wolfram Foundation, Wolfram Knowledgebase, Wolfram Player, Wolfram Demonstrations Project, Wolfram Data Drop, and Wolfram Data Repository, just in this article.
I guess he saves time and effort naming things (and naming things nowadays is nearly impossible), but at some point it starts getting weird.
- vitorbaptistaa 7y agoI agree it's weird, but it's not that uncommon. The product names tend to follow the company's name (e.g. Dell XPS, Ford Fiesta, etc).
- knolax 7y agoHe should alternate between his first and last name for every new project. Middle name too if he has one.
- dna_polymerase 7y agoWolfram Notebooks, Stephen Cloud, Wolfram Language, Stephen Foundation, Wolfram Knowledgebase, Stephen Player, Wolfram Demonstrations Project, Stephen Data Drop, and Wolfram Data Repository. It sound like two entirely different product lines, and just by hearing the names I know they would have problems playing together nicely.
