I can't read the article because of the paywall, but have they also factored in the future cost of lawsuits and compensation payouts to airline operators of the 737 MAX for loss of revenue from the grounded jets? The loss of passenger seat revenue, along with long term storage fees for the grounded fleets, plus the costs of getting those aircraft airworthy again, not to mention costs of leasing alternative aircraft to fill route demand... the costs would be staggering, and Boeing will have to foot some, if not all, of it.
