It looks like a Golf... It's a very classic design for VW.
- izacus 7y agoMore like the Polo, the cheapest and smallest of the VWs. For me it's also not an appealing look for such an expensive vehicle.
- gambiting 7y agoUp is the smallest of Volkswagens actually, and this has the front from that. It's not a good looking vehicle by any measure.
- tyfon 7y agoI have a 2015 e-up, it's very fun to drive and it has 210 nm of torque. My Toyota Avensis had 150 (at peak RPM). It's like driving a go-cart in the city and it charges 75% capacity in about 15 minutes on fast chargers (enough for about 100 km more). Personally I find it looks quite cool after I did a custom paint job. You can even get it in Honey Yellow [1] from the shop, but personally I think it's a bit gaudy.. My daughters really wanted that colour but I had to nix it! - gambiting 7y agoOh, I don't mean to say that the Up isn't a good car, I know they are pretty practical and fun to drive for something that small(although according to Which? magazine it's consistently at the bottom of reliability charts, so take that as you will), just that the front of the Up glued onto a golf-size car doesn't look that good.
- tyfon 7y agoI guess the reliability is for the fossil up :) But beauty is as always in the eye of the beerholder. I don't really fancy how the back of the e-up looks either, but I didn't mind the ID3 all that much.

- Ninn 7y agoThe ID.3 is more spacious than a golf.
- PopeDotNinja 7y agoIsn't a European Polo virtually identical to the American Golf?
- Tsiklon 7y agoNope - the Polo is a good bit smaller than the Golf, it's a Supermini. Think of it like how the Golf used to be back 1970's. The Polo is in the same class as the Ford Fiesta, Mini and Fiat 500.
- gniv 7y agoI think the pictures don't do it justice (maybe b/c of the short front?). Strictly by dimensions, it's bigger than the Golf. From wikipedia: ID.3: Length 4,262 mm (167.8 in) Width 1,809 mm (71.2 in) Height 1,552 mm (61.1 in) Golf: Length 4,255 mm (167.5 in) Width 1,799 mm (70.8 in) Height 1,452 mm (57.2 in) Also much longer wheelbase (2,765 vs 2,637).
- rad_gruchalski 7y agoUp! is the cheapest and smallest.
- r00fus 7y agoYeah, it's basically eGolf v2 (or v3?) with a decent range. I considered an eGolf - I think it looks nice.
- danans 7y agoIIUC, the eGolf was built on an existing ICE vehicle platform. The ID3 is built on a ground-up designed EV platform. So really, they are totally different vehicles.
- petre 7y agoNot really, it looks like a VW Up. I used to think the BMW i3 was butt ugly but then realised that if it's not light coloured it looks okay. Then the ID.3 was announced. Whatever. Their ICE entry level cars are totally worthless with that VW Up 3 cylinder 1L engine they install on just about every model. I wouldn't be surprised if they equipped a Touareg with that coffee grinder excuse of a "poweplant".
