Meeting other humans, enjoying work and staying on the good side of the tax authority are important. I just imagined that she or he could do these things other ways; hire one or two employees, diversify the business a bit, and incorporate the company. I actually do think keeping the job is a good idea for exposure to different ways of thinking, but perhaps scaling it back a little (part-time?) in order to invest more time into the primary income source.
