I noticed that firefox (dev edition) got rid of possibility to disable update notifications. I prefer my browser to be updated from repository rather than by itself. Did anyone has the same issue or found some workaround?
- ben0x539 7y agoSurely if your package manager installs firefox into /usr or whatever, it's not gonna be able to update itself either way, right?
- dblohm7 7y agoYes, distributes packages work differently.
- svnpenn 7y agoIts no longer possible with about:config - you must use a JSON file. However be careful - even once you create it, its destroyed upon manual update: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1576400 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1576400
- CamperBob2 7y agoWow. With attitudes like this: "The discussion about the method for disabling updates has been had over and over already, there is nothing left to say about it, and the change will not be reverted. You've been given workarounds for your problem. Please do not reopen this bug or file any others asking the same thing." ... who needs Microsoft?
