I don't understand. Doesn't iTerm2 do exactly this? What would I get by using Terminator that I wouldn't get by using iTerm2? One of the first things I did just now after installing it was create a window that looks almost exactly like the one in the Terminator example screen. Except I use 3 shells rather than 4. A full height shell on the left and 2 half height shells on the right.
