- Cogito 7y agoThey literally say > All built on the bleeding edge. Built on the edge, for the edge. The only suggestion that this is meant "to handle all your traffic" is from you. It seems like your main complaint is that the author didn't use some specific 'experimental/not for prod use' tag. For my mind, that's exactly what 'bleeding edge' implies, but if you think it doesn't why not simply suggest that they add such a tag? No charitable reading of the post suggests malicious or careless misleading.
- cafxx 7y agoWell, I was actually responding to the OP... but I guess I could have been clearer in my intent - that was exactly what you stated: mark it as experimental/not for anything important.
- Cogito 7y agoFair enough, I guess it doesn't really come across like that. The author takes contributions, so they'd probably welcome a pull request on the README that introduced that kind of language. I have no idea if they'd merge it or not, but at least they would then reflect on the idea.
- SteveNuts 7y agoDo you really require someone to point this out before running in production? If anyone doesn't know not to do that, it's on them, not OP.

- cafxx 7y agoI simply believe that honesty is important. If I publish something that I know to be experimental, I mark it clearly as such. And I point out others when they fail to reach that bar, so that they can fix it.
- dang 7y agoHonesty's great, but breaking the site guidelines is not. Fortunately you can be honest while following the site guidelines in both letter and spirit. Please see https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=21308730 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=21308730 as well.
