Is there a substantive difference between something like the cheapo TCL with integrated Roku and a dumb / unconfigured smart TV with an external Roku?
Genuine question—I mean, is TCL+Roku likely to share different telemetry due to manufacturer requirements or pricing constraints?
- tyingq 7y agoIt's probably fine, but then you have to trust both TCL and Roku. I'd rather just trust Roku. And not just for privacy, but for timely software updates, spare remotes, etc.
