For starters your health insurance is a contract between the insurer and the insured. Obama is a lawyer, he knew or should have known he has no right to make such a statement to the public. At anytime the insurer had the right to discontinue those plans. So it seems pretty clear he made that statement solely for political purposes to push his party's bill through.
