That's how the thread-last/first macros help in Clojure. You sort of specify a pipeline:
```
(-> list parseInt isOdd sum)
```
Is the same as
```
(sum(isOdd(parseInt(list)))
```
Particularly useful if you're pulling a deeply nested key out.
