AndOTP Removed from the Google Play Store Due to Donation Link
- gruez 7y agoGiven the other story this morning[1], does that mean Google's cracking down on donation links? [1] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=21268389 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=21268389
- dang 7y agoAlthough about different apps, the story is basically the same, so we'll merge the two threads.

- sebow 7y agoGoogle is going hard on (better said against) privacy, security, and expanding their data mining capabilities by forcing people to join their ecosystem. "Coincidentally" they removed ublock origin(best and only transparent ad-blocker out there), this app(personally i haven't heard or used but i understand the usefulness of it) and this while they've been keen on dictating what "the web" should look and feel like through chrome.(Removing actual useful features, etc) It's just disgusting, and yes, they're suppressing actual FOSS and open communities(F-Droid,etc) in computing not because they generally care about your security, but because forcing you to join their ecosystem means more data and inherently money.
