I rely heavily on those I follow to retweet interesting tweets. I may not want to read everything lots of people say just to get the interesting bits. For Twitter to decide “you can follow directly, but you can’t spread what they say” is one-off censorship.
- klyrs 7y agoThe first amendment says "Congress shall make no law," not "Twitter shall make no policy." You have the right to say, and publish, what you want. You don't have the right to compel anybody to listen to, agree with, or publish what you say.
- ctdonath 7y agoAgreed. And twitter better understand the dynamics of that, considering there’s a large fraction of users looking for a better platform to jump to.

- hesk 7y ago> I rely heavily on those I follow to retweet interesting tweets. That's interesting. I do the exact opposite. I turn off retweets for the vast majority of people I follow because I'm interested in their original ideas and not of random retweets of random stuff. I allow retweets for a very small fraction because they have demonstrated that the stuff they retweet I find actually interesting.
