LOL, that's actually somewhat plausible considering how many nuts there were back then believing the world would end. "Plausible" in the context of TFA, of course, if we're gonna go ahead and believe it, for the sake of argument. I mean, there's not a lot of information to go off, either. The article adds zero additional information (relevant information, I don't care how many beers he drank) over the first paragraph, so all we know is contained in that one sentence. Since the family seems to have been liberated, it would have been interesting to know what actually happened there and how they were convinced not to leave the farm. Shouldn't have been to hard to ask, right?
