Let’s not forget Tagged, which was a pretty big social network back when I was in Mexico a decade ago. Tagged was an interesting combination of a traditional social networking site as well as a Tinder-style dating site: You looked at someone’s photo. You clicked “Yes” or “No”. If you got a mutual “Yes”, you could connect and then see the person’s profile, photos, and friends. All of this half a decade before Tinder existed. It was a great way to meet people. By the mid-2010s, the place was dead, infested with fake profile spam bots.
