I agree, it seems insane, yet people do get married, sometimes several times. Even the super rich apparently... I really wonder what goes through their head. I think it shows how social pressure and traditions are very powerful forces. That, and an incapacity to project themselves in the future. Humans are optimistic by nature. If we weren't, we'd be constantly anxious about getting old, declining, dying...
