That was such an interesting novel. Of course in that novel the justification for total surveillance and lockdown of components was the extreme vulnerability to terror enhanced by technology, AI, and automation...which was hard to argue against in Rainbows End.
- SolarNet 7y agoThat was what it was for the US and EU polities. I think there is a throwaway line about China just doing it because China. When this happens in US and EU it will be because of terrorism, linked with technologies like amazon's drones, or uber's cars, or some other thing.
