It's time for governments to ban any auto-driving system which allows for autonomous steering until there exists a framework for validating that such a system is capable of dealing with 100% of situations that a reasonable driver would be able to handle.
- close04 7y agoThe driver is still fully responsible for whatever happens with the car. So whether the car steered autonomously or the driver turned the wheel it makes little difference from a legal perspective. Perhaps it would just be an aggravating factor that you intentionally let a system that is unable to fully perform the action of driving do this on a public road. Like letting a 6 year old drive.
