Perhaps there is an upshot. If the Chinese government have complete access to all traffic in China, they will be unable to deny knowledge of hacking originating from their own IP blocks. By the same token you would expect that all unlawful traffic originating in China to cease.
- thoughtstheseus 7y agoWhy would that be the expected?
- Ill_ban_myself 7y agoBecause if it did not stop it would imply the Chinese government accepts and approves of the criminal acts
- mtgx 7y agoWhy wouldn't they say something like "The NSA hacked our computers from which it then launched an attack on France." Even with total surveillance of its internal networks, it's not like anyone is expecting China to end all cyber attacks against its computers, especially when so many run unpatched.

- kristofferR 7y agoHehe, it's completely off-topic, but the combination of China and "And then?" reminded me of this hilarious movie scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqwzuiSy9y0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqwzuiSy9y0
