- mmaaggyy 7y agoit's ok, it's just an acronym meaning: fixed that for you now you can use it too
- bjornjaja 7y agoI could but it’s faster to type “fixed that for you” so no thanks!
- CamelCaseName 7y agoFixed that for you. It's a very common abbreviation and can be found with a simple web search of "FTFY".
- nullandvoid 7y agoWhat a silly comment. Are you going to never learn another abbreviation again when you don't know something?
- greggman2 7y agoIIRC FTFY means "Fixed That For You". AFAICT it's pretty common to use abbreviated phrases like that here in HN but maybe TPTB will say otherwise. FWIW abbreviations have a long history https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUKn_Ar96PE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUKn_Ar96PE
- bjornjaja 7y agoAcronyms are typically used for long-winded domain-specific terminology not easily typed common-language terms. Why create all these acronyms? Is typing not easy on a modern swipe keyboard?
