- m0zg 7y agoThe op meant "culturally Swiss", which is clearly not the case based on his behavior. It's not enough to just be born in a country to be considered culturally similar.
- esoterica 7y agoAre you suggesting that “culturally Swiss” people never engage in inappropriate behavior, unlike people from “other cultures”? Why not end the dog whistling and say what you’re thinking out loud?
- m0zg 7y agoJust goes to show that anything is racist if you're woke enough. I (and the OP) was clearly alluding to the "platonic ideal" of a Swiss: a person so above board they would never even contemplate anything untoward.

- esoterica 7y agoJust goes to show that nothing seems racist when you’re racist yourself. Would you have said the sentence “the executive is not actually Swiss” if he had not been named Iqbal Khan? You might have insulted him in other ways but you would never had contested his Swissness, which is an uncontroversial biographical fact. No one says things like “Ted Bundy is not actually American”, even if they think that serial murder is not “culturally American”. You’re suggesting that nonwhite people have to work extra hard to prove that they “deserve” their Swissness in a manner that ethnically Swiss people don’t. That’s precisely what dog whistling is, saying racist things in coded language while pretending that you’re not being racist just because you’re not dropping slurs. I’ll say it again: you’re a racist and a disgusting human being. Feel free to whine to the admins about banning me for incivility. We can then see if they decide whether or not being racist is better or worse than being mean to racists. PS: The platonic ideal of a Swiss bank CEO involved making a fortune helping other people evade taxes. So much for “never contemplating anything untoward”.

- blub 7y agoHe's not a "disgusting human being" for saying something mildly racist on an online board... you need to re-calibrate your disgust sensor and stop being so stiff.
