Well deserved. We would not be anywhere where we are today without Li-ion batteries.
"Goodenough" is also a surname I have never heard in my life and it is as odd as I expected it to be.
- photon-torpedo 7y agoNot so rare perhaps. London has a Goodenough College, presumably named after someone by that name.

- schoen 7y agoIf you've seen the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons, the antagonist Boris Badenov's name is a joke on Boris Godunov: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boris_Godunov https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boris_Godunov
- dang 7y agoThere have been several previous HN discussions about him and his work: https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=false&query=goodenough&sort=byDate&type=comment https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=false&qu.... You have to scroll back through the flurry from today of course. I have a feeling that the name is a variant of the much more common "Goodnow", but can't remember where I got that notion.
