I find it works as a "daily driver" now, it's not just another experimental Rust project. it downloads everything as it's used, and automatically decides when to rerun compilation to deal with citations, float numbering, etc. Rarely do I find I need to fall back on the standard programs. I strongly recommend giving it a shot if you use LaTeX.
