Can't they build a wall around? It can't be that big. If it's a site that satisfies the largest number of UNESCO World Heritage criteria, maybe it could be financed internationally?
- coldacid 7y agoTurkey wouldn't allow it even if the money showed up. This dam is all about control of the Tigris, and flooding the city is a bonus strike against the Kurds as far as Ankara is concerned.
- beerandt 7y agoIf the political will to call them out for the whole Armenian thing doesn't exist, I don't think you're going to find the will to save a Kurdish archeology site.
