side-loading ... the term itself is ridiculous. You cannot just load an app on your phone unless Apple approves it.
- brian-armstrong 7y agoIt's actually a historical term - it came about from loading apps on the Nokia Ngage ("side-talking")
- hug 7y agoIt sure didn't. Sideloading came about as content was generally downloaded elsewhere and then pushed onto a device over a local connection -- i.e. sideways. It's a lot older than the N-Gage.
